A word from the director
Dear Prospective Student,
Thank you for your interest and welcome to the Yoga Garden! You are about to embark on a journey of discovery, so congratulations for taking the first step. At The Yoga Garden, you may join a class at any time as most classes are on-going and mixed levels.
On-going and mixed levels classes mean that every week you have the opportunity to explore an ever-changing variety of poses with other students of varied experience.
Why do we encourage mixed levels?
Because regardless of your ability or your experience level, we are always working with four principles in yoga: grounding, alignment, centering and breath.
So what does this mean for the beginning student?
I teach in a 'layered' style. You always have the opportunity to remain in the basic version of the poses (asanas) and as you gain experience, you choose how far to deepen your practice.
What does this mean for the experienced students?
Every class offers challenges and opportunities for more experienced students to express themselves at their deepest level.
The idea is that everyone is different, with a wide range of ability and experience, so it is important to approach your practice with sensitivity and as well as a sense of adventure!
We look forward to meeting you soon!We look forward to meeting you soon!
