Gay White has been teaching yoga and an innovative blend of dance and yoga, Yoga Movement, since 1989. After studying at the Yoga Room in Berkeley for many years, she is now the Director of the studio and co-director with Mary Lou Weprin of the Yoga Room Advanced Studies Program a 500 hour program training teachers and deepening practices. Gay founded the Yoga Garden Dance Company in 1992 and continues to give classes, workshops, retreats and performances. Her choreography has been featured at the Yoga Journal's International Yoga Conventions.
Gay has been inspired by her studies with Donald Moyer for 31 years and forever through his writings and books. Also by Mary Lou Weprin, Geeta Iyengar &, BKS Iyengar. In recent years she has studied with Phid Simons and Arthur Kilmurray.
Gay's retreats, workshops and classes offer a gentle yet deeply challenging approach to practice. Her many years of teaching have been devoted to beginner students as well as ongoing Intermediate. “Nothing fancy, just the basics but very deep” long time student.

2530 San Pablo Ave, Suite D. We are in the northwest corner of the building we share with the Sierra Club, Ecology Center, Audubon Society, and Centro-Latino. Enter the lobby and proceed down the hallway to the door marked Suite D, The Yoga Room. Pass through this doorway and follow the corridor to the right until you reach our beautiful, quiet new studio. There is an anteroom where you can leave your shoes and clothing, but please bring your valuables into the practice space.
Please do not park in the building parking lot. Parking is available on San Pablo, Blake Street, or Tenth.
